Grand Theft Auto V may have made over $1 billion in just three days but Rockstar could be looking at the long game by possibly introducing micro transactions
Latest News:
GTA Online, the multiplayer aspect of GTA V, could well feature the controversial use of micro transactions after a Reddit user found evidence suggesting that Rockstar would introduce 'Cash Cards' which could be bought using real money. Buried within Grand Theft Auto V, the intrepid Reddit user claims to have uncovered code and a collection of images which point to Rockstar introducing real-money transactions, the images show what appear to be 'Cash Cards' ranging from $100,000 to $1,250,000. The code itself also features the following description, lending yet more heft to the possibility that Grand Theft Auto V will make use of the feature that has become so popular on free-to-play games and now, on bigger console titles. "Cash is king in this town. Solve your money problems and help get what you want across Los Santos and Blaine County with the purchase of cash packs for Grand Theft Auto Online. All purchased cash is automatically deposited into your character's bank account. Spend wisely, cash therapy is fleeting." Rockstar has yet to comment on this however this isn't the first issue that has arisen with the record-breaking game after it was revealed there was an issue which resulted in cars disappearing after being parked in garages. The Scottish-based developer is apparently aware of the issue and is already looking into finding a fix. |
